The alliance, which consisted mainly of the departing
government parties, San Marino first, became the largest in
the first round of elections. In the second round in early
December, the Alliance won the Adesso.sm, consisting of the
Social Democratic Left, the Citizens' Movement 10 and the
Republic of the Future. The Christian Democrats ended up in
opposition for the first time in 27 years.
